Bowood.TV is an independent catalog of movies and web series from around the world. We make it easier for fans anywhere to discover the best of global streaming — Hollywood, Bollywood, Anime, K-Drama, Turkish, Latin and European cinema — organized by language, genre and platform, and to find where each title can be watched online.
Our Mission
Cinema and television produce some of the most diverse storytelling on the planet — Hollywood blockbusters, Bollywood epics, anime seasonal hits, K-drama prestige TV, Turkish historical sagas, Latin telenovelas, European art-house features — yet discovery is fragmented across dozens of streaming services, regional platforms and pay walls. We built Bowood.TV to consolidate this universe into one fast, free, ad-supported catalog so any viewer, anywhere, can find what to watch tonight without juggling subscriptions.
Bowood.TV originally launched as a South Asian streaming catalog (Bollywood and the regional Indian industries) and has since grown into a global platform — we still maintain one of the deepest free catalogues of Indian web series and films anywhere, alongside anime, K-drama, Turkish dizi, Pakistani drama, Latin and European cinema. We treat the catalog as a public reference, not a walled garden.
How the Catalog Works
Title metadata — names, posters, plot summaries, cast, episode counts, ratings, original languages — is sourced from TMDB, an open community database used by major streaming apps. We then layer our own curation on top: organizing titles by region and language, mapping them to the streaming platforms where they are officially available (Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+/JioHotstar, ZEE5, SonyLIV, JioCinema, Crunchyroll, Apple TV+ and more), and grouping shows into editorial lists.
For each title, when a user requests playback, our front-end queries third-party video embedding providers and renders whichever source returns a working stream. The video itself is streamed and transcoded by those external providers — never by Bowood.TV. Our servers do not store, transmit or transcode video.
What Bowood.TV Is Not
- We do not host video.No MP4 or HLS files live on our servers. Embeds are loaded directly from third-party providers in the user's browser.
- We do not produce content. We are a discovery and indexing service, comparable in nature to search engines and review sites.
- We do not require payment. No credit card, paywall, or subscription is ever requested.

The Team
Bowood.TV is an independent, one-person passion project founded in 2026 by an independent developer with a long-standing interest in Indian cinema and a background in web engineering. The site is self-funded and self-operated — no investors, no parent company, no large editorial team. This keeps the catalog focused and the decisions transparent.
Editorial choices (which lists to feature, which titles to highlight on the home page, how to group shows) are made manually. The rest of the catalog is generated automatically from public metadata.
