Stan Romanek

Stan Romanek became one of the most famous and controversial figures in ufology during the 2000s, claiming to be the "most documented alien abductee in history." He gained widespread notoriety by presenting alleged physical evidence of his encounters, including a viral video of an alien peeking through his window, complex mathematical equations supposedly implanted in his mind, and mysterious body scars. His claims initially attracted a massive following and even inspired the 2016 documentary Extraordinary: The Stan Romanek Story.

However, his credibility completely unraveled due to blatant hoaxes and severe legal troubles. Investigators and skeptics quickly exposed his evidence as fraudulent—revealing that his famous alien video used a puppet and catching him using strings to fake paranormal activity during live events. The final blow came in 2017 when Romanek was convicted of possession of child pornography, a criminal sentence that led the UFO community to permanently distance themselves from him, leaving his legacy as one of the darkest frauds in paranormal history
