Biography

Santino Carmelo Pasquale Benedetto was born in Cambridgeshire, England, to an Italian-English father and a Czech-English mother, in February 2007. He did his GCSEs at Impington Village College from 2018 to 2023, and then moved onto taking his A-Levels Hills Road Sixth Form College from 2023 to 2025, at which his film-making career begun. Primarily, he prefers to stay behind the camera, but has been known to flex his acting chops and appear upon the screen - as seen by his award-winning leading performance in "Double Bluff" - and has worked as a director, writer, and editor, as well as occasionally a boom-mic operator; often Santino has a lot of uncredited work, such as lending his home to be a set, supplying costumes, offering advice on unfinished scripts and cuts, and so on.

He was the mind behind "Double Bluff" which he created for his Film Studies NEA, and also helped Dylan Gracey with his surrealist masterpiece, "Make a Cup of Tea", which he also acted in. He is also known for his heavy contribution to Zack Khan's family-focused documentary, "Keeping up with the Khans". Together, the three of them have worked on smaller, untitled projects over the years as well, and will likely continue to do so.

Santino's career is one of only a few films as of now, but each was made alongside his closest friends and with love.

Before he ventured fully into film-making, he would shoot, star in, and edit iMovies of all genres with his friends and family from a very young age, showing how he has always had a passion for cinema. In his teenage years, he ran both a small YouTube and Twitch account. The content of these mainly consisted of video-game content, but occasionally branched out.

Another notable part of Santino's life is his charity work. Notably, he hosted the "Mind Matters Football Match" on July 28, 2024, at Emmanuel College Sports Ground in Cambridge. Following it's success, he organized "Mind Matters Match 2!" on January 5, 2025, at Girton Parish Council Pavilion Hall in Girton, Cambridgeshire. Unfortunately, the second match was postponed due to bad weather on the day, and then never rescheduled before officially being cancelled. These events aimed to raise funds and awareness for mental health charities, including Mind and The National Brain Appeal. Additionally, he did three charity streams across the 2020s decade, one for Covid-19 relief funds, and the other two for The National Brain Appeal.
