Mason G. Higgins

Mason Higgins (born December 21, 2007) is an American film director from Folsom, California. He began his career in the early 2010s, working on films since lost to time such as The Kickbutt Kids and House of Kids. His career truly began finding a foundation in 2021, with his work on the Rad Brad series for Jaguar TV. In 2022, Mason began collaboration at Studio del Lago with various filmmakers whom he went on to work with closely. In 2024, Higgins released his breakout short film, What's a Musical?, which is still regarded by some as his magnum opus.

His independent short film career took off in the summer of 2025, when he began work on Shindig, a short film he wrote in collaboration with his friend and filmmaking partner, Brad Hummel. Shindig premiered in the early fall of 2025 to wide acclaim and remains Higgins's most viewed short film on YouTube.

In the Spring of 2026, Higgins announced his commitment to USC School of Cinematic Arts, where he will continue to pursue filmmaking as a member of the Class of 2030. Shortly after his commitment, Higgins was announced as the director of Studio del Lago's Video Production 3 film, Yellow Roses (later renamed to Bloom). Bloom was the culmination of years of collaboration with various Studio del Lago talents, including Dominic Flores, Komal Ahmed, Riddhi Chatterjee, Nathaniel Owen, and Brad Hummel. Bloom (2026) premiered to the largest in-person audience of Higgins's career and continues to climb in viewer count on YouTube. Mason Higgins's career will continue through his time at USC, as he strives to bridge modern techniques and traditional storytelling to draw wide audiences to films for the next generation.
