Season 1
Episode 1
CHAN LI HANG inspects the construction site. He meets the site supervisor, CHOW KA TSUN. They join force to put off the fire at the site and leave a deep impression on each other. TSUN takes care of his daughter, WAI MAN and his son, WAI KIT by himself. TSUN is very bad-temper, thus, he always quarrel with MAN. MAN obtained a reward in a youth beauty contest. TSUN scolds her. MAN leaves home and stay at her aunt, CHOW KA PIK's, home. HANG loves his wife, MAK YUEN YEE, deeply. YEE is pregnant. HANG takes very good care of her. HANG's brother-in-law, SI HO (YEE's younger brother) is in league with the contractor, LEE, to squeeze money by using inferior materials. It leads to a flood at the well. TSUN's subordinate, MING, covets for money and sacrifices his life in the well. TSUN hits LEE with a fire extinguisher in a towering anger. The police charges TSUN. HANG is very depressed. He drives when he is drunk and leads to a car accident.
Episode 2
HANG knocks a pedestrian down, the police charges him. He is in a very bad mood. With HO's instigation, HANG is dismissed. TSUN handles MING's funeral and fights for a reasonable compensation for MING. He thus ignores the police warning. KIT fought at school. TSUN even scolds KIT's teacher. MAN is very dissatisfied with TSUN. The father and daughter relationship further deteriorates. TSUN regrets as he found that LEE is seriously injured. He admits his fault and is being sentenced to nine months imprisonment. HANG's another brother-in-law (YEE's elder brother), HONG, pretends that he is helping HANG and recommends him a barrister. This barrister misleads HANG. HANG is thus being sentenced to six months imprisonment. YEE faints after the adjudication.
Episode 3
HANG worries a lot of YEE who is sick. HANG is not used to the life at the prison. The prisoners humbug him. He requests to ring home but is not allowed. He is very depressed. YEE has been miscarried the baby. Though she is very weak, she still wants to go to visit HANG. However, her mother, CHIU MEI CHING, stops YEE from visiting HANG. YEE's mother-in-law is so exhausted that she faints at home. HANG is very upset as nobody visited him. An officer, TAM CHI SHAN, goes to the prison the first time to introduce them the details of her work. However, the prisoners play trick on her. TSUN quarrels with one of the prisoner, TAI SHUN. TSUN is then arranged to stay at HANG's gaol. HANG is very uncooperative. The leader of the gaol, LI SHING, is very dissatisfied with him and always finds fault on him. HANG is collapsed and he attempts to commit suicide.
Episode 4
HANG intends to commit suicide. Fortunately, TSUN stops him in time. SHAN knows that HANG has longed for his wife`s call. SHAN rings YEE for HANG`s sake. However, CHING devises to spoil HANG and YEE`s reunion and stop SHAN to contact YEE directly. TSUN has offended SHUN. He is attacked. Fortunately, SHING and HANG save TSUN. MAN intends to investigate why her photo was used in a magazine cover without her consent. A lesbian convinces YAN to take some sexy photos instead. YEE is busy in securing a mortgage for her flat. Coincidentally, the flat is belonged to her old lover, LAU CHUNG LIN. LIN wants to chase YEE. Thus, he is willing to help her. SHAN prepares for the student reunion gathering enthusiastically. Unexpectedly, SHUN takes this chances to take revenge on TSUN.
Episode 5
TSUN is hurt by SONG for the sake of saving SHAN. SHAN feels very grateful for his rescue. Since then SHAN cares a lot for TSUN`s whole family. When SHAN knew that YAN likes MAN abnormally. SHAN and CONNIE then disclose that YAN is a lesbian. MAN feels grateful for SHAN`s help. Meanwhile, SHAN discovers that TSUN does not guide his children well. SHAN gives TSUN advice but TSUN does not accept her goodwill. SHAN suspects YEE and LIN`s relation. She makes use of HO to approach YEE. YEE accepts LIN`s proposal in order to earn a living. She handle the interior design for LIN`s luxurious apartment. She even asks HO to do the renovation work. TSUN, HANG and SHING become very good friends in prison. One day, they are mowing the lawn. SHING falls into a well carelessly. TUSN risks to save SHING.
Episode 6
TSUN and HANG save SHING from the well. YEE tidies up HANG`s room as she knew that HANG will release very soon. Meanwhile, she is also busy for the renovation work of LIN`s luxurious apartment. The prisoners celebrate for HANG for his release. HANG is touched. HANG vexes for finding a job after release. HANG feels very upset as he does not see YEE after release. Someone employs HANG to be the authorized architect of a project in Mainland China. HANG accepts the offer gladly. TSUN also finds job with his friend`s help.
Episode 7
TSUN and the others are brought to the police station. They blame on each other. SHAN does not sue TSUN. The relationship between TSUN and MAN deteriorate. KIT then lives in SUN's home temporarily. The supervisor, LI SZE, spreads the rumor against TSUN. It makes TSUN more difficult to get a job. TSUN is very depressed. KIT thinks that TSUN will never return home. He waits TSUN at the football playground. TSUN slaps KIT as he thought that KIT has played truant. Since then KIT is very scared of TSUN.
Episode 8
HANG thinks that LIN is interested in YEE. Thus, HANG sells his flat at a low price so that he could repay his debt to LIN. YEE tries to stop HANG but is in vain. HANG gives the cheque to LIN and asks him to keep away from YEE. SHAN witnesses the scene. She proposes HANG to stay in SUN's home for one night so as to calm himself down. SUN sets up a firm, the Reforming Association, to help the ex-prisoner. TSUN works at his firm as cleaner. KIT fights with his classmate. He fell down from the wired metal and is being sent to the hospital. The psychologist points out that KIT is very scared of TSUN as TSUN is emotionally very unstable. The doctor wants TSUN to see him regularly. HONG instigates LIN to buy up the Yik Fai Company. HANG discovers the photo in a magazine. He is very jealous. He wants to divorce with YEE. YEE is heart-broken.
