Season 1
Episode 1
LUNG was a department head of Human Resources Department. He was arrogant because he had the authority to cut down the number of staff. Colleagues hated him very much. LUNG and his friend SZE, who speculated in shares and property, had bought an apartment in Parklane Garden for speculation. They intended to sell it at sixteen million dollars. LUNG’s boss PETER had invited a consultant LAN about cutting down the headcount. LAN proposed to begin at the middle level. SZE’s father POR was an owner of a condiment shop. He was stubborn and always quarreled with SZE. His daughter KAI and her husband pleased him by pretending to be thrifty. LUNG was in a very bad mood. Besides worrying of being fired, he got several summons and BO spent a lot on audio system. LUNG’s mother DAN asked him and BO to live with her. However, LUNG persuaded her to move to his place……
Episode 2
LUNG asked earnestly his boss not to fire him, but finally he was fired. His colleagues made fun of him. SZE told LUNG that he had signed a temporary contract of sell. LUNG hurried to the property agent angrily and tried to destroy it. However, he tore a wrong one and had to compensate a hundred thousand dollars. At night, LING disguised as a girl from a well-to-do family to look for a wealthy husband. The stock and property market dropped sharply. LUNG worried very much. At last, he changed his mind to sell the flat at a lower price. LAN and her husband KWONG was a model couple superficially. In reality, LAN was imperious and dominant. She forced KWONG to run for councilor in an election. A buyer was willing to purchase LUNG’s apartment at fourteen million dollars. However, the property market dropped again and the buyer refused to sign the contract.
Episode 3
LUNG’s car was out of order. KU HON WAN came to tow his car, whom LUNG had met before. LUNG was also surprised that WAN had several part-time jobs. SZE made a profit in speculating future index. He promised to help LUNG repay his installment loan, but he lost finally. LUNG was being dun for debt by bank of three months’ installment. He then realized SZE had withdrawn the money. The price of Parklane Garden was dropped below the mortgage amount, which became a negative asset. He decided to sell his existing apartment for repayment. He looked for SZE and discovered that he had moved. SZE went to Stanley to auction the furniture on street, in order to pay back the money to LUNG. SZE’s mother, TING, knew her son was in economic difficulty, she helped to repay to LUNG. LING brought a buyer to LUNG’s existing apartment. However, LUNG’s part-time maid HING drove them away.
Episode 4
HING bought LUNG’s house and demanded him to move within seven days. LUNG determined to divide the apartment in Parklane Garden into three parts and rented them out. In order not to be discovered by his mother, DAN that he was unemployed, LUNG stayed in his car after sending his brother FUNG to work. However, DAN realized it at last. LAN was very enthusiastic to get more votes for KWONG, but KWONG wasn’t. LAN received a call from the clinic and realized KWONG had a mistress BONNIE who had been pregnant for three months. KWONG proposed to divorce. LAN told KWONG to withdraw from election by pretending sick and handled divorce in low tone. LING looked for tenants for LUNG. The first tenant was LAN, whom LUNG was reluctant to rent. Another tenant was WAN and his wife SHUM CHUN MEI. The couple tried very hard to let their daughter CHUN studying in a famous school……
Episode 5
KWONG’s withdrawal from election made LAN’s business dropped. LAN was disappointed. DAN drew lots for LUNG, which indicated that his fate was becoming worse. She therefore asked him to live with her. LUNG refused because he would move to Tsing Lung Tau. However, DAN discovered the location was only a refuse station. LUNG was locked outside a balcony by mistake. He hit on the glass door to draw LAN’s attention, but LAN pretended not to see him. SZE started his direct distribution business, hoping to make the first bucket of gold. BO was thinking of some ways to bring LUNG and SZE together. TING asked her friend to rent SZE’s existing house, so that SZE might not discover she was helping him. SZE moved into Parklane Garden. WAN and MEI spent the weekend with their children in Parklane Garden. They got acquainted with some rich women who could help CHUN go into a famous school……
Episode 6
DAN misunderstood LAN was living with LUNG. She was happy and returned home. LAN’s father HON pointed that LAN should be responsible for the failure of the marriage to a certain extent. LUNG, SZE and BO were having hot pot. WAN and MEI joined without being invited. LUNG was angry. LAN recalled her days with KWONG. She called him but found that there was a female voice from KWONG’s side. She cut off. She threw away all the toys given by KWONG. LUNG discovered those toys were the ones who had caused his injury previously. He looked for LAN to express his anger. LAN went to the property agent to rent another place. She met KWONG and BONNIE. She tried to slap KWONG but was scolded of not being gentle enough. By mistake, LAN switched off the main power. It made LUNG’s computer out of power who missed an opportunity of making profit. LAN regretted and helped him to get a job……
Episode 7
Reporters questioned LAN about her marriage and the truth of KWONG’s debt and disappearance. LAN was surprised of KWONG being in debt. Several businesses were put off due to rumor of debt. LAN was miserable. She asked KWONG to hold a press conference to clarify. LUNG secretly went to get products from the distribution company. He met his ex-colleagues and lied that he was doing health food business. LUNG went to LING’s property agent and was ashamed of himself because SZE had good skill of selling products. As told by LAN, KWONG lied that he would leave for Canada to develop his business. In order to move back home, MEI’s brother CHOI and his wife YAN threatened CHUN and CHUI. CHUI therefore brought CHUN to look for their mother. They lost their way, but they met LAN fortunately. Reporters took photos of KWONG and BONNIE when they were buying baby stuff. LAN was angry and decided to divorce.
Episode 8
LAN changed her mind suddenly when she was signing the divorce agreement. She was afraid that the company would be dispersed and her hard work might come to nothing. MEI and WAN were frightened that CHOI might mistreat their children again. They determined to bring them to Parklane Garden. DAN knew from LUNG’s ex-secretary that LUNG was fired. She pressed upon FUNG and BO. BO disclosed that the luxurious apartment had rented out. LUNG’s self-respect was hurt and administration staff of TC Club looked down upon him. He returned home angrily. LAN poured out LUNG’s noodle carelessly. They quarreled. LAN thought over LUNG’s reproof on her, and with HON’s economic support, LAN got divorce with KWONG and bought the other half of share of the company.
