Season 1
Episode 1
FONG HING and LAM WING are both sorcerers of very different temperaments. Their respective sons FONG NAM and LAM MING FUNG study Chinese sorcery from them, together with their disciple LUK CHEUNG ON. The three young men have strong brotherly feelings for each other. NAM is engaged to a young girl called CHUN KIU. Yet she and her mother look down upon NAM and his father who are both sorcerers. The engagement finally breaks and NAM's pride is hurt. Feeling that Chinese sorcery has become obsolete and is no longer regarded as a respectable profession, the three young ones decide to go to the town and try their luck. At first HING does not agree to their decision. Eventually, under the persuasion of WING, HING gives them his consent.
Episode 2
Owing to their ignorance, NAM, FUNG and ON put them to embarrassment several times. FUNG is being mistaken as a pickpocket and the three of them are taken to the police station. With his wit, FUNG manages to make Inspector KAM release them. Having nowhere to go, they seek shelter in a temple, where they meet Inspector Kam again who goes there to investigate a case concerning vampires. FUNG tries to make fun of him but suddenly there comes a gang of robbers. The condition turns out of their control. Luckily, the secretary of the town's Chief KEUNG arrives and drives away the robbers. Despite the unfavourable conditions faced by them, they decide to strive hard to achievement in the town.
Episode 3
Being unable to find a job, they turn to pull rickshaws. NAM gets acquainted with the Chief's daughter YIP KA YUN while FUNG is attracted to a wealthy and beautiful girl LO MEl OR who shows no interest in him. Unable to tolerate the employer's harsh treatment, ON quits the job and starts to learn to make cakes in a restaurant. The Chief's son is heavily in debt and thinks of a plan to cheat his father's money so as to settle the debts. He pretends to be kidnapped and asks his father for ransom. This arouses KEUNG's suspicion. FUNG learns of this plot from ON. Driven by his greed, FUNG decides to snatch the ransom.
Episode 4
FUNG succeeds in getting the ransom but NAM deems it a. dishonest act. They two fallout but accidentally they win a huge sum of money. So they donate the ransom to a charitable organization and spend the rest buying the restaurant ON's working in and start running the restaurant themselves. Feeling happy about their bright future, they enjoy themselves in a brothel where ON falls in love with a prostitute MUl. He is determined to marry her and begins working hard for that. HING and WING miss their sons and decides to visit them in town. Upon arrival, they find their sons in financial trouble since their business does not prosper. HING helps them out of their trouble with his own savings. Their business begins to become better, without letting HlNG know, they go to have a celebration in the brothel where they meet LAl YAT SHEUNG who is an orphan seeking shelter there and is cheated to become a prostitute.
Episode 5
FUNG and the rest of them squander all their money and cannot foot the bill. HING comes just in time to their rescue. SHEUNG also discovers that she is cheated and runs away with them to take up a job in their restaurant. DICK YING, an evil sorcerer, is enemy of HING and WING. As he has improved in his evil skills, he comes to avenge on them. YUN finds her friend CHOW hurt and brings him to HING who discovers that CHOW is injured by a vampire. HING asks NAM and FUNG to cure CHOW while he and WING go to look for the vampire. However, while they are away, the vampire comes to attack the restaurant and they are all in danger.
Episode 6
NAM is injured by the vampire but luckily HING and WING returns just in time to save them. They kill the vampire and when DICK wants to run away, he is beaten by WING and falls down the cliff. KEUNG secretly saves DICK and makes a deal with him seeking his assistance in his attempt to grab the post of the chief. Feeling indebted to NAM for saving her life, YUN visits him very often and this arouses CHOW's jealousy. CHOW allies with Inspector KAM and make false charges against NAM's restaurant forcing it to suspend business for three days. On learning this, YUN scolds both of them and asks her father to compensate NAM's loss. YUN's father is unhappy to find YUN falling in love with NAM. He thinks that NAM only loves YUN for her money. In order to stop them, he sends NAM some money and asks him not to court his daughter……
Episode 7
NAM finds himself being looked down upon by YUN's father and the two falls out. However, KEUNG tells YUN's father not to insist on their separation because he thinks that they will eventually go separate ways due to their different temperaments. YUN is delighted to find her father not stopping them from getting along with each other and her misunderstanding with NAM gets resolved. FUNG suffers great loss in gambling and he cheats SHEUNG of all her savings. Feeling disillusioned, SHEUNG commits suicide but is saved by NAM. On learning FUNG's evil plot, NAM forces him to return all the money to SHEUNG. In order to win OR's affection for him, FUNG seeks WING's help and they decide to use magic. However, it turns out Inspector KAM gets bewitched and falls in love with FUNG.
Episode 8
WING eventually uses magic again and relieve FUNG of this trouble. KEUNG is delighted to find his plan going on fine so far. Apart from getting the post of the chief, KEUNG wants to take revenge on YUN's father who betrays his own father so as to get his present post as the chief of the town. These years he has been working as the secretary of the chief and patiently waiting for his chance to come. WAI YEUK HON comes to town and becomes a tutor for YUN's brother teaching him how to fire a gun. However, his real intention is to get YUN's jade which will make a pair with his own. From that complete niece of jade, WAI can get a map to hunt for hidden treasure.
