Nearly five years after being found guilty of murdering three women he met on the internet, Alan Lane (John Lynch) is back in the headlines as the Court of Appeals has dramatically overturned his convictions. The case goes back to the Old Bailey as new evidence comes to light and the stage is set for a fierce battle between Lane's defence barrister Emma Watts (Julie Walters) and John Mallory (Roger Allam) for the prosecution, And as our twelve jury members, each from very different walks of life, receive their summons, they are unaware that their lives are about to change forever...

Episode One
It's the first day of a new trial, in which schoolboy Duvinder Singh is accused of a shocking murder. Jury members are preparing for the stress of this high profile case.

Episode Two
On the second day of the highly publicised trial, the jurors encounter the media hype and Duvinder suffers abuse at the hands of one of the prison wardens.

Episode Three
It is Duvinder's first day in the witness box. Rose gets up early, trying not to wake her husband, and creeps out of the bedroom to pack her bag for another day in court.

Episode Four
In the Young Offenders Prison, Duvinder is taunted about the approaching cross examination by the prosecution QC who is known as a bully.

Episode Five
Jeremy takes the boys to school - their clothes are ragged, and he feels ashamed. On the spur of the moment, he phones Mark Waters and tells him his decision.

Episode Six
Eddie finds Johnnie in a terrible state. Meanwhile, Rose packs her bag to leave the house again. Will she return? The jury deliver their verdict on Duvinder.
