About
Xu Liren (played by Liao Wai-hung) has always been self-righteous and harsh on others, but due to a terminal illness, he has changed his personality and outlook on life. HUI LAP YAN is the supervisor of the debt department in Lee Tung where LAU KAI TAI and LAI KA KUEI are his subordinates. LAP YAN is very aggressive in dunning for debt and often performs his duties desperately and inconsiderately. Both TAI and KUEI are afraid of him with respect. Whereas, VAN's boss CHOW CHUN HON appreciates him very much and intends to promote him to the post of manager. LAP YAN has a wife called WAI YIN. She takes care of LAP YAN and the family. Apart from this, she is not interested in other matters. LAP YAN sometimes despises her for over-isolated from the society. KA KUEI has a girl-friend called JENNY. JENNY has a greedy and vanity mind. In fact, KA KUEI does not love her but KA KUEI's grandmother likes JENNY very much and often forces KA KUEI to date with her. WAI YIN meets her old friend CHEUNG SIU MUN. SIU MUN invites YIN to work as volunteer social worker in the community centre……

LAP YAN fails in dunning for debt from Mr. TWELVE for he is so tricky that he escapes away. JENNY cleans the room for KA KUEI without informing him and that she throws away his old jeans. After KA KUEI has discovered this, he is so angry that he scolds JENNY. KAI TAI likes FUNGCHUN but does not have chance to date with her alone. KA KUEI wants to help him but FUNG MING takes this opportunity to force KAI TAI to invite them to a dinner. As a result, he invites all of them to have buffet in a cheap restaurant which leads to very displeasing atmosphere. LAP YAN and KA KUEI go to Canton to dun for debt from Mr. TWELVE. KA K0EI encounters the "Blind Adherence" job seekers. He sees MAN JING's eyes being hurt and becomes temporarily blind. So he sends her to the hospital. He takes care of her and in order to let her receive better treatment, he pretends to be the brother of the sponsor of the hospital……

KA MAN dislikes LAP YAN's style as a "strong" man in the family. She criticizes him about this and LAP YAN reviews and decides to change his style. Thereafter, he and WAI YIN love each other more. LAP YAN moves into new flat and invites his colleagues to have a gathering. When all are playing with great fun, CHUN HON faints suddenly. SlU LING sends him to the hospital immediately. The doctor suspects that he is having an incurable disease and suggests that he should receive thorough inspection. KA KUEI goes to Shenzhen to search for MAN JING but she has already gone to reunite with her father JO FAI in Hong Kong. MAN JING knows by chance that KA KUEI is not the brother of KA CHUN and she presumes that he is a liar. This makes her feel very disappointed. FUNG CHUN tells KAI TAI that she does not love him. He once again fails. After inspection, CHUN HON has been proved to have an incurable disease……
Episode 4
LAP YAN has been finally successful in getting back the document from CHUN HON. He is so happy that he thinks this will lead to his promotion to replace CHUN HON's position. KAl TAI and FUNG MlNG meet at an interview for a part-time job. They criticize each other before the employer which finally results in the failure of both. Once, KAI TAI lets FUNG MING to hire the taxi first and this gives her a better impression on him. LAP YAN brings KA KUEl with him to dun for debt from JO FAI. They meet several bad guys who are also searching for JO FAI. But JO FAI has already disappeared and only MAN JING is present. KA KUEI meets her again and rescues her. But she does not realize that KA KUEI is actually the one who sends her to the hospital in Shenzhen. She thinks that he is just a greedy guy and she does have a bad impression on him. The company appoints POON WAI to replace CHUN HON's position……

LAP YAN dislikes the incapability of KA KUEI, he sends KAI TAI to be responsible for dunning for debt from JO FAI instead and TAI accepts this unwillingly. KAI TAI hides himself in JO FAI's old flat and finally discovers the whereabouts of JO FAI and his daughter. When KAI TAI first meets MAN JING, he is attracted by her beauty. LAP YAN intends to use violence to force JO FAI to repay the debt but KAI TAI stops him. Instead, he uses gentle ways to request JO FAI to repay the debt but JO FAI disregards them. Then LAP YAN fights with JO FAI and JO FAI threatens them to jump down. KAI TAI suggests to let JO FAI to repay the debt by instalments and is willing to act as his referee. LAP YAN finally agrees. One debtor forces JO FAI to repay the debt, KAI TAI gives him the money on behalf of FAI. He also finds a flat and jobs for both of them and this makes MAN JING have a better impression on him……

After LAP YAN has awaken, WAI YIN suggests him that he should go to have a medical check in the hospital but is rejected by him. KAI TAI often excuses to have free meal at FAI's home. JO FAI wants to borrow money from TAI to open a massage house and so he creates chances for TAI to get close with MAN JING. KA KUEI meets MAN'JING in the street and he begs her to forgive him immediately. She promises to forgive him and this makes KUEI feel very happy. He then goes to have fun in many places with MAN JING. They have a very enjoyable day. JENNY notices the difference in KUEI's behaviour. She is so suspicious that she goes to investigate. She finally discovers that KA KUEI often gets along with MAN JING. So she goes to find MAN JING immediately. She insults MAN JING in public. MAN JING feels being badly treated and decides not to see KA KUEI anymore. LAP YAN's couple, TAI O and AAACE spend their holiday in Lantau Island……

LAP YAN worries that he has got an incurable disease and so goes to have a medical check. The doctor requests him to receive more detail medical tests. LAP YAN is very worried and he tells his worries to WAI YIN but she comforts her. JENNY excuses to go to KUEI's house so as to reconcile with him. However, KA KUEI does not pay any attention to her and this annoys her. LAP YAN reads the doctor's report in secret and misunderstands that he has got the brain cancer. He feels extremely upset and goes to drink in the pub with KA KUEI. LAP YAN does not want to embroil WAI YlN and intends to commit suicide. But it so happens that he has failed in all kinds of suicide methods. He is still alive and he starts to realize that he should spend a wonderful moment before death. So he goes out to have fun in the nightclub but is seen by KAI TAI. He tells WAI YIN about this but she doesn't believe. WAI YIN gives shelter to Mrs……

LAP YAN meets SIU LING. When he knows that she has borrowed a lot of money after the death of CHUN HON, he is so worried that WAI YIN will have similar occurrence after his death. KAI TAI invites MAN JING to a dinner. They meet MAN JING's colleague AMY. By judging from his appearance, AMY misunderstands that he is the .Uncle of MAN JING and this embarasses him a lot. POON WAI's subordinates dun for debt from SIU LING. She is now helpless. WAI YIN realizes this and lends SIU LING her private property together with a diamond ring. After POON WAI knows this, he scolds his subordinates. He arranges to meet WAI YIN and gives her back the ring. It is seen by LAP.YAN and he presumes that they have unfaithful relationship. He hits POON WAI. But after he realizes the truth, he starts to build up friendship with POON WAI. LAP YAN has very bad mood and he scolds FUNG CHUN for her little mistake.
