Season 1 - 1991
In 1991 Brooklyn, underboss Robert "Bobby Two Times" Valenti tries to keep the Gallo crime family stable while dealing with the loss of his wife Elena. As tensions rise with the rival Lazzaro family and the Gallos begin working with the Balkan organization led by Slavko Pavlić, Bobby is forced to balance loyalty, leadership, and survival. The season follows Bobby as he manages a family full of different personalities, from the unstable Tommy Brullo returning from prison, to the struggling Artie Rivieri, the loyal Danny Brullo, the sharp-tongued Aaron Conaro, and the young Gabe Pavlić entering the organization. As Tommy's reckless actions threaten the family's future, Bobby is forced to make choices that test his relationships and change him forever.
Season 2 - 1992
After the events of Season 1 and Tommy's execution, Bobby and the crew are under surveillance by disgruntled FBI Agent Albert Chung, putting pressure on both the freight operation with the Balkans and also the family's stability itself. A new faction arises in Sunset Park, led by the charasmatic and cunning Juan Campa and his level headed right hand man Ivan Cortez.

Bobby's decisionmaking is threatened when the family boss, Johnny Gallo, welcomes home Tommy Brullo, an explosive, old-school mobster fresh out of a ten-year prison sentence who immediately breaks street rules by violently extorting a Lazarro gambler. Desperate to smooth things over, Danny B fiercely vouches for his younger brother, but the tension peaks at a welcome-home party inside The Laugh Track comedy club. When advisor Aaron Conaro uses his sharp humour to publicly humiliate Tommy, Tommy's pride snaps, leading him to brutally beat a Lazarro associate right on the club floor.

Fresh out of prison, Tommy aggressively attempts to assert dominance over Big Moe, the man who was promoted to captain of Tommy's old crew during his time away. Tommy treats the crew as his stolen birthright, sparking a tense power struggle that threatens to turn the neighborhood into a war zone. Caught completely in the middle, Bobby is at a crossroads, torn between protecting the family’s established hierarchy under Moe or honoring the old-school like his boss intends him to do. The crisis peaks at a high-tension sit-down where Tommy openly pushes Moe to the edge, forcing Bobby to navigate a emotional minefield that threatens to permanently fracture the family's stability.
Only The Good Die Young
At his wife Elena's wake, Bobby's reserved nature is pushed to the brink as his overbearing father, Richie, constantly undermines his authority in front of a younger crew. The atmospheric grief quickly turns into a tension filled nightmare when the ailing Lazarro family boss, Pino, arrives to pay respects alongside his fiercely protective wife, delivering an icy ultimatum to Bobby: hand over Artie’s construction rackets as tribute for Tommy's recent violence, or face an all-out turf war. With an anxious Artie physically unraveling in the bathroom, Bobby cold-bloodedly forces him to keep running Slavko's illicit Balkan freight, assigning his newly inherited, war-hardened enforcer (and slav's great nephew), Gabe Pavlic, to secretly surveil the enemy. The friendly ruse shatters when Aaron's ball busting gets underneath Tommy's skin, causing a scuffle in the laugh track bathroom.
In Writing
Aaron's audit catches Tommy’s vending machine routes skimming cash at an egregious amount. Bobby, grief-fractured and bitter, brings in Eddie Tellieri, Tommy's unofficial protege, for answers. Eddie stonewalls. Bobby and Aaron beat the kid in the back office of The Laugh Track, repeatedly smacking him with the ledger itself. Eddie goes home bloody and gives up nothing. News breaks that Pino Lazzaro died quietly in his sleep. Rita is named acting boss. At the Gallo sit-down Johnny G calls to figure out their position, the room is tense and nobody wants to be first to say they're rattled by a woman taking over next door. Bones DiSantoro volunteers to open a back channel with the Lazzaros, pitching it as smart diplomacy. Johnny G agrees. Bobby isn't sure but doesn't push back.Across town Gabe, running surveillance on the Lazzaro construction sites, spots a soldier meeting with one of Slavko's street mules. He forgets rather than bringing it to Bobby half-baked, which is his first mistake.
Heavy Lifting
A territorial problem between Artie's crew and a Lazzaro sportsbook threatens to blow up Bones's back channel before it's produced anything useful. Johnny sends Danny B to mediate. Danny cools the room down and gets both sides to accept a, then finds out Tommy's fingerprints are all over the original conflict and has to clean up his brother's mess once again. Afterward the brothers talk. Tommy is Tommy, same excuses, same "You're my kin, Dan. My own blood." speech he's repeated over and over. Danny nods and lets him go. On the drive home he has to reckon with the fact that he won't be able to keep doing this. Meanwhile Bobby brings Gabe along to help move Richie's things from the family home in Carroll Gardens, which Richie is refusing to sell out of pure stubbornness. Richie spends the first hour making remarks that go slightly over Gabe's English. Gabe stays neutral, but can pick up Richie's tone. By the end of the afternoon Richie is showing him photographs and talking his ear off.
The Long Ride
Tommy's crew hijacks a neutral truck both families have a piece of, and Bobby has to fix it before it becomes a war. He sends the brutal yet painfully socially unaware Gino Terrimotti and off the boat Croatian Gabe to quietly recover and return the cargo. The drive is absolute for a socially inexperienced Gabe as Gino, completely unbothered by the two associates he just neutralized in a parking lot, pivots immediately to an extended bit about genital fungus that he keeps returning to for the next forty miles. They stop at a diner on the way back. Tommy is already there. Gino, reading the table wrong in every possible way, launches into a prison joke that splits the room. Tommy storms out. Bobby delivers the news to Johnny, who isn't grateful, just tired. He gives Bobby a half compliment and Bobby leaves, slightly unsatisfied.
All Due Respect
Tommy gets into it with a Lazzaro street guy over something embarrassingly small and takes it out on Eddie in the parking lot behind The Laugh Track. The crew sees it. Word gets back that Eddie is dating the daughter of a Lazzaro lieutenant and suddenly Tommy's temper tantrum is a diplomatic incident. Rita Lazzaro's response arrives hand delivered to Bobby that evening. Three words. "We are watching." Bobby confronts Tommy. For once Tommy has nothing. No smartass comeback, no justification, no speech about ten years. Danny finds out about Eddie and goes straight to the hospital. He sits with him for an hour before calling anyone. Bobby meets alone with Slavko to sort out a complication in the freight operation and holds it together through sheer will. He comes home late, finds a home video while looking for something else. Elena making fun of him for screwing up dinner, Bobby on camera laughing and loose and completely unrecognizable. He watches it twice. The basil plant is visible.
A Man's Reputation
At a family sit-down Tommy goes too far, calling Bobby a queer to his face and turning on Gabe and the Croats in the same breath. Bobby is physically held back by Aaron and Artie while Gabe throws the first punch. Tommy pulls his piece. Johnny G walks out without a word and Tommy goes into hiding that night, on his own accord. Word gets back to Slavko, and the freight arrangement Bobby has been securing all season, is now in jeopardy. Slavko wants satisfaction or he wants out. Bobby has a week. Danny finds Tommy in his motel and defends him to Bobby anyway, knowing exactly what he's walking into. Bobby listens and gives him nothing back. On the drive home Danny sits in his car outside his house for a long time before going in. Bobby gets Aaron alone. The opinion is the same. Tommy's got to go. Bobby already knew. He just needed to hear it out loud.
