Episode synopsis
David Kemp is a depressed alcoholic in and out of therapy, trying his best to deal with his soon-to-be-ex-wife, Eileen, two kids, Luke and Sophia, and aging father, Dale, alone. When he finds himself completely broke after a drinking binge, he turns to his estranged brother, Vic, for help. Vic spends his days in the business of distributing black tar heroin for notorious criminal Ira Monroe along with his best friend Clark, and associates Sammy, Conrad, and Rob. When David confronts his brother, Vic takes both him and Clark on a drug deal that goes wrong. Meanwhile, Sammy, Conrad, and Rob go looking for the others. They find a girl, Cindy, deep into addiction. Sammy takes her to his house and tries to help her kick her addiction. When the other three decide to take the money for themselves, a heated confrontation ends in Clark's death at the hands of Vic.

In this crime drama, two estranged brothers, David and Vic, are brought back together when they start working together in selling black tar heroin for a notorious criminal, testing their professional and personal relationships with each other and others as they deal with their own individual struggles.
