About
The noisy commemoration, celebrated by the Germans in 1993, reached a peak. It was only a question of reconciliation between the adversaries of yesterday and reciprocal pardon. Very laudable intentions which perhaps conceal a memory problem. And if, to too much want to turn the page, the Germans did not come to lose their memories? If history, covered by noise, became mute? If the faults were changed into "details"? The grandchildren of the combatants react in front of the camera to the evocation of these questions and to the spectacle of the vast market of commemorations.

Season 1

Episode 1
The battle of Stalingrad cost the lives of 800,000 Soviets and 400,000 Germans in less than three months. Hitler wanted at all costs to conquer the city which bore the name of Stalin. The Soviet general Tchouikov responded to the tanks and planes of the German general Paulus by the snipers and the urban guerilla. Every day thousands of Soviet soldiers crossed the Volga to replace the dead. Meanwhile, in the utmost secrecy, the Red Army gathered and equipped a million men to encircle the Nazi enemy. This operation, codenamed Uranus, was commanded by General Zhukov.

Episode 2
800,000 Soviets and 400,000 Germans died in less than three months in Stalingrad, a vast field of ruins after the battle. Hitler wants the city that bears the name of his enemy. This one answers by the oukaze: "Plus a step backwards". Every day, thousands of Soviet soldiers, who have only a few days of life expectancy, cross the Volga to replace the dead in combat. Snipers and urban guerillas respond to the offensives of Paulus. Meanwhile, the Red Army is secretly organizing Operation Uranus. In November 1942, Russians and Germans were exhausted. The latter consider their enemies as rats. But the heroism and cunning of the Soviets, which stand in their way, proved decisive in a battle that changed the course of history.

Episode 3
On November 22, 1942, the agony changed sides. Marshal Manstein did not succeed in loosening the vice of the Red Army. In spite of an airlift, Paulus no longer receives the food and ammunition he needs. Hitler wants him to commit suicide. Instead of killing himself, the marshal surrenders. The entire Soviet people are the architect of this victory. The course of war has changed.
