About
Arriving in Lisbon from London, Basílio falls in love with his cousin Luísa, but he must go to Brazil, promising he will eventually marry her. Episode 1
Basílio returns from England and falls in love with Luísa, his cousin. However, financial problems lead Basílio to Brazil. Luísa and Jorge get married. Basílio returns to Lisbon.
Episode 2
Juliana is in a bad mood at work and complains about her job. Luisa receives a visit from Leopoldina, and Juliana tells Jorge about it, which irritates him. Joana is having an affair. Basílio visits his cousin.

Basílio visits Luísa every day, causing a stir in the neighborhood, which begins to speculate about the young man and woman. Sebastião makes a discovery about Luísa's past.
