About this season
An array of extraordinary people from all over the UK prepare to share with the nation what they pledge to change about their life by This Time Next Year. The pledge could be anything from losing half their body weight, finding the love of their life or even becoming a parent.

In this first episode, Davina meets new parents who want to transform the life of their profoundly deaf baby girl, a military couple who share their desire to start a family, a mother and daughter hoping to lose 15 stone between them, an oncology student who has her sights set on becoming Miss England, and a lady with a rare autoimmune condition who pledges to have a brand-new nose. Will all of them achieve their goals?

In the second episode of the new series Davina meets Stephen, aged 45 from Cheltenham. Stephen grew up knowing he had a half-sister called Rosemary who his mother gave up for adoption after falling pregnant when she was very young. Stephen's mum never looked for Rosemary as she didn't want to intrude on her new life. She died five years ago and Stephen found a book of poems she had written including one about Rosemary and what it had meant to give her up. By this time next year, Stephen wants to track down his long-lost sister.

In this episode, Davina meets a young couple desperate to start a family against all odds, a brave father hoping to give his young daughter the gift of life for the second time, a single mum looking for love, an IT manager pledging to take to the stage, and a lady who wants nothing more than to be able to hear her children's voices.

In the fourth episode, Davina meets Rebecca who pledges to ‘have a full set of teeth' when they meet again in a year. Rebecca had several teeth pulled out when she was younger and developed such a fear of the dentist that she avoided going. She now has very few teeth left and wants a new set so she can eat what she wants and smile with confidence.

In the fifth episode, Davina meets an 11-year-old meningitis survivor hoping to have hands, a young couple with fertility complications that dream of starting a family of their own, parents whose only wish is for their young son to take his first steps, and a man who shed half his body weight but has an unsightly reminder of his past.
